Homemaker and Home Health Aide Program
The VA Homemaker and Home Health Aide care program offers in-home care to Veterans with personal care needs on a routine basis. Someone can come and assist veterans in taking care of themselves. The one coming to assist will not be a registered nurse, but the initial consultation/visit is supervised by a nurse.
All enrolled (VHA Standard Medical Benefits Package) are eligible if they meet the clinical need for services. The aide can assist with:
· Eating
· Dressing
· Grooming
· Preparing meals
· Other daily activities
Homemaker Home Health Aides work for an organization that has a contract with VA. The aide can come several times a week or just occasionally. The services of a Homemaker can serve Veterans of any age.
Application Process:
Contact nearest VA facility and ask to be connected to a social worker. You may contact our office for assistance and recourses.
